We are celebrating those small achievements we've had for our week! Sharing about health, wealth, writing, family, or school... you name it, and we'll celebrate with you! We do this by hopping to each other's blogs, offering congratulations. And for those times you need encouragement, this is the best blog hop group ever!! We are empathy, en masse!
What am I celebrating?
1 - Having great success making Cement Cloth Planters!!
Cement draping instructions:
Go to the hardware store and buy a bag of cement, its in powder form. Take it home scoop some out and add water until it is the thickness that you want. Just like onion ring batter.
Approximately a 1:4 water/cement ratio.
You may also want to put some drainage holes in the planter before it completely hardens to prevent cracking.
You may also want to apply a couple coats of cement sealer after the planter is dry. This is also nice due to the fact there is so many colored cement sealers now so your planter may be colored to want you would like.
2 - I'm seven pounds away from my goal!
3 - Finally getting back to reading; I took a long break after the A-Z challenge.
I hope everyone has a fun celebration day!
The plant holder looks great, what a wonderful idea. So close to your goal, keep going. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading about your "tea" - flower planters seems mundane! (smile).
Deletesounds practical and fun and messy too :)
ReplyDeleteDezz- it is messy but they turn out really nice. I think I may paint butterflies on one of them, with acrylic paint.
DeleteCongrats on getting closer to your weight goal and the lovely planters. I should be so artistic. Well, maybe in my next lifetime!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn - they're not hard to make. I do have several old bar stools. It's funny the things you keep, thinking you might get some use one day.
DeleteI love those planters, what a great idea. Congratulations on being 7 lbs away. I've been 10 lbs away from my goal for 2 years now. Just won't move.
ReplyDeleteJo - maybe you're supposed to keep that 10 pounds for bowling leverage.
DeleteTurned out great indeed at your feed
ReplyDeleteSome times I find fun things to make play!
DeleteGreat celebrations, and I love your cement planter idea. Wow!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda Kay. I bet you posted wedding pics. I'll stop by.
DeleteThose planters are so unique and fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI wrapped saran wrap on my bar stool to make the long one. Then when I remove the planter, the wrap has protected the stool. It comes clean.
DeleteThose planters are ridiculous! What a unique idea. And your instructions make it sound so easy. I'm sharing this with my dad, who loves to work on his garden. He'll love this idea!

Hi Tanya. The planters were one o those Facebook posts. I really wanted to do this. I want to make a bird bath... we'll see.
DeletePlease share. I hope he likes it.
WTG to being so close to your weight goal! You can do it!!!

Thanks, Betty!
DeleteI ought to show those planters to one of my friends. They sound like a fun idea.
ReplyDeleteGod, Entertainment, & Annoying Things
They are so easy. Great for a summer birthday gift,
DeleteI really need to get back to some more reading. Maybe during my summer travels I'll get through a few books--I usually do manage that though I cut back on blogging.
ReplyDeleteDon't even remind me about weight. I don't understand. I've put on 15 pounds since the first of the year. Maybe I'm retaining too much liquid. I know it's not because of too much money in my pockets.

Tossing It Out
Hi Lee. I don't usually get a lot of reading done in summer. The yard calls me out to play.
DeleteI think being 15 pounds heavier, due to money would be great, (smile).
Wow! Those are cool planters! Way to go with being close to your goal! I can't seem to lose any, but I am exercising anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tyrean.
DeleteThose are the coolest planters!
ReplyDeleteI like them too, Holli.
DeleteI love the pretty planters! That's such a cool DIY project! Congrats on being so close to your weight goal and for finding time to read again. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! :)
