Lull
The leaves are down from a late night storm.
It rained, it thundered, and flashes of lightning crossed the sky.
I hunkered down in my bed, quite warm.
The downy top, the sleep nonstop, the windchimes' lullaby.
You're very welcome. Interesting series you did on Africa. I have a large backdrop of evergreens in my yard... even Pine trees. Working on a painting of the small forest behind my home - might be winter before I finish!! Thank you for visiting me!
A lovely little prose poem!
ReplyDeleteThis really happened Friday night. I slept well - no howling from all that winterizing. Yay!
DeleteWhat beautiful foliage! We just don't get gorgeous fall colors like that here...
ReplyDeleteOh that beautiful foliage is now wet from the rain and clinging to my beautiful patio.
Deletesuch true enchanting delight! You should put it on a postcard and start selling it
ReplyDeleteThank you for the very nice compliment. Hmm, would you buy one??
DeleteMy bed was cold or so I'm told :(
ReplyDelete;)
DeleteFrom a reliable source I presume?!
DeleteLove that autumn scene. And the poem captures the mood nicely. That's the kind of sleep that I like.

Tossing It Out
The best kind. Lee I enjoyed your BOTB post.
DeleteLove the leaves until they are slippery underfoot.
ReplyDeleteOh I really hate that too.
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Autumn is the best for color. A large sumac in my neighbor's yard is quite the show right now.
