tiny birds
You bring me joy
As you sit upon the limb
Such tiny birds
Appeal to every whim
You huddle close
A fluttering of the eyes
Just then a peep
As the sun begins to rise
Your sleep is done
Time to take a morning flight
My feeder waits
Where I watch with great delight
Sweet voices ring
Songs and sounds that lift my heart
When you must leave
Say goodnight before you part

Hi Dixie,
ReplyDeleteYour joy for the beauty of nature and those tiny birds, resonates so sweetly within this marvellous posting.
Thank you.
Peaceful wishes, Gary :-)
With the winter weather I've just re-discovered the joy of watching the birds in our garden when we put up feeders to help them. Beautiful poem :) Best wishes, Julie x

Hi! Today is birdie day!
ReplyDeleteI love your sweet, sweet poem about such favorite little creatures.
I had a snow day today and enjoyed my nice, slow morning just watching and photographing my backyard birds. My second cup of coffee was never so sweet!
I'm sending you links to my "classroom door" photographs that I would love to post. My door is decorated with wintry art and your poem is posted there too ... I wanted you to see how it came out!
here's the first one
and here's the second one.
Hope my links work for you!
Hoping your warm and cozy on these winter days!
~Maria
Dear Dixie,
ReplyDeleteA lovely poem which shows how much you are enjoying seeing our little furry friends.
You seem so much more positive of late, dc. I hope that this continues and you are well and happy.
Very Best Wishes,
David.
Dear Maria,
ReplyDeleteThe door is absolutely gorgeous! I am most honored to share a snow day with you and the children. Thank you for the links; they work fine.
Oh, but you may want to have another look at my blog. Then switch the top sheet with the bottom sheet, on the door. :)
Thanks, Maria, have a great time photographing.
In peace,
Dixie
Hi David.
ReplyDeleteThank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed this poem.
My intention for the image was to use it as a screensaver on my computer. As I sat staring at it the poem's words tumbled out of my mind!(smile)
When it comes to my path... sometimes I crawl, and sometimes I walk. Thanks for the message.
In peace,
Dixie
