Celebrate the Small Things

What am I celebrating?

1- Having just enough mulch to get flowerbed #3 done. It's big!!

2- Purple Iris that came up in three smaller beds.

      I've used tons of cardboard and mulch to do the flowerbeds. A friend called me today. She has extra mulch. Wish you lived nearby!!

      You can also used cardboard, overlap pieces.

    Mulching really pays off. Love the purple :) I think I have a purple iris, but hasn't blossomed yet (still learning what's in my yard)

      That's the fun part, Sharon. I know my Mom planted loads of flowers and every time I pull back a layer of vines or scrub... something new blooms!!!

    Hello from a fellow gardener. I used to have iris like that in my yard but lost them over the years. I LOVE iris, and since I'm getting back into gardening after being away from it for many years, your post reminded me that I need to buy some!

      A friend has red iris; have you ever seen those? It's so strange looking. I'm hoping to get a couple of bulbs from her.

      Since the bird plaque got broken today, accidentally, the wind beneath my wings has pooped out.

      You can also use cardboard until you buy mulch later.

    Iris is one of my favorite flowers. (I like lilacs, too.) I have a Van Gogh print of irises that I just love.

    You are a gardening maven! I love irises. (Tiger-lilies and snap dragons too.) It's so cheerful to have gardens full of flowers. I think the squirrel is adorable! Have a lovely weekend! :)

      Eva, forgive my late visit to your Celebration! Those beds have me really busy - so much has been ignored in the yard. My elderly Father didn't like yard work - once he passed away - I went to work on it full time. Before when I would come over to work on it, he'd rather visit, so the yard got further behind.
