You might be wondering, where is dcrelief? No Saturday post? No Sunday post? What is she up to now?
In my spare time I'm an artist. [Spare time, what's that, right?] I paint in acrylics, mostly canvas, but I do make exceptions.
Currently I have a client who brought me a plaque with carved birds. She wants them painted to look like the ones pictured above.
So I'm outside of my 'blogworld', but still inside of my studio, painting away! I'll do my best to visit everyone by this evening. Now for a cuppa coffee...
I hope we get to see the finished artwork!
ReplyDeleteI've got the camera - not to get it done!
Deletethose blue ones are really pretty!

DeleteThank you, Jo. I've been working like crazy here.
DeleteOh Dezzy, sorry I skipped right over you, but Jo is right!! :))
DeleteI bet your artistic work will look lovely.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Yvonne.
Thanks, Yvonne.
DeleteGeez, how dare you take a break to do something else lol bet you can show up my stick people any day, no artistic talent in me lol
ReplyDeleteHa ha, Pat!!!
DeleteWhat a great talent you have! How fun to be painting the birds! Enjoy!
ReplyDeletebetty
Betty, it's Wednesday and I'm halfway there!
DeleteI'm not surprised at all to hear that you are a talented artist. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteYou're not? Thanks, I think :)
DeleteThose will be beautiful subjects for your painting! We'll let you take a break, Dixie.
ReplyDeleteLinda Kay - you're so nice. This is a tough one.
DeleteThose pictures are beautiful. Have fun painting! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Chyrs, haven't forgotten you! Almost time :))
DeleteIt looks like you have an beautiful subject to capture on canvas. I hope you'll share with the rest of us your painting when it's done. I really envy folks like you who are artistically inclined with a brush or pencil. I wish I could draw or paint. I think this is why I love photography, photo-editing, rubber-stamping, & writing so much as these are my creative expressions and contributions. Isn't it funny, we all want what we don't have? But, we all can't be or have the same things and knowing this I am happy where I am. Enjoy your painting. We'll be here when you can get to us! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's not on canvas. It's a plaque she bought. It's even harder than I first thought it would be. I had to research the birds.... I might as well write a post!!
DeleteYou paint too? I am so jealous. I would love to be able to create such beautiful things. Enjoy your time outside!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elizabeth!
DeleteI hope you show us the finished product!
ReplyDeleteRobin, I'll get the god-daughter to photo it.
DeletePlease show us when you are done! I love seeing art :)
ReplyDeleteKatie @TheCyborgMom
Okay, Katie.
DeleteDidn't know you did that Dixie. Have you ever looked at the paintings by my son in law? His link is on my page. Mike Woodcock. I would love to see what you finish up with.
ReplyDeleteYes I have, Jo. His work is wonderful.
DeleteHow nice it must be to work with beautiful colors. No doubt you are a great artist.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Janie, I'm hoping for the best.
DeleteShow me....show me......show me!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
Soon... I'll try.
DeleteHi Dixie,
ReplyDeleteI know how talented you are. Not only an excellent writer but an darned fine artist. I vividly remember some of the paintings you have posted up way back in the past.
I'm really heartened to see how well you're doing these days, Dixie, May your positive focus be ever clearer.
Gary :)
Thank you, Gary!
DeleteWhat a cool project! I hope you have fun!
ReplyDeleteMichael, not too bad... lot of research.
DeleteThose are beautiful pictures. I'm hoping to fix up the back portion of my yard as a garden to attract hummingbirds and butterflies. May have to cage the cat when I do though.
ReplyDeleteIf you lived close by I've give you a butterfly bush. I love them. Hang your feeders on poles or in places your cat can't climb up.
DeleteWhat beautiful birds! It must be very relaxing to work on such a beautiful project.
ReplyDeleteIt will be when I get further along. Painting the background without touching the birds has been time consuming.
