I have been nominated by two bloggers for the "Very Inspiring Blogger Award." Sharon M. Himsl @ Shells, Tails, & Snails, and Debra@ She Who Seeks
My thanks to Sharon, who relays the true stories of "The Nursing Ship of Madagascar." She stays in email communication with a nurse who is employed on the ship. There are times I leave her blog in tears, pondering the gentle ways of the staff, and the kindness of the local peoples, with whom they come in contact. Sharon creates her own 'series of interests' reads. Lately she has us all exploring famous quotes, or first sentences of the old classic novels. It's a lot of fun. Thank you, Sharon.
My thanks to Debra She Who Seeks, who is the history buff I longed to be at one time in life. To tell the life of each notable era with tongue in cheek perfection. Don't worry, the other eras get their own special madness - she's guaranteed to make you laugh, and wonder why history has hidden so much? Of course you have to visit every holiday. There's a cartoon or explicit photo that you'll not want to miss. It's all about explaining life on the blue marble. Thank you, Debra.
Rules for the Nominees:
1. Thank the person who nominated you, and link to their blog. Covered.
2. Display the award logo. Done.
3. Nominate 15 other bloggers (more or less) and provide a link where they may be found. I chose four.
4. Leave a comment on their blog, to let them know they have been nominated. I'll do that.
5. Mention three things that inspired you the most during the past few weeks.
5a - Great news on a friend not expected to live, has had a miraculous recovery. Even her doctors are stumped. I wrote a blog post on 'dcrelief' about her called, "Alone with thoughts."
5b- The joy from 'followers of fun and frolic' on my 'an artful blogger' joke site. Their wit and creative thinking reminds me, that laughing at ourselves makes for a happy heart.
5c - So many people have wished me good thoughts concerning my pulled muscle. They've taken time to stop by and check on my progress. There's a lot of loving humanity living in the blogosphere!
It was a difficult choice because I am inspired by so many. I am grateful that some have already been nominated by someone else, for the "Very Inspiring Blogger Award." If not this post might have been twice as long!
These four are very diverse, with one common denominator. They love what they're doing! That's the best inspiration for me (smile). My thanks to Jo, Cathy, Lisa, and Linda!

Congratulations and I do hope that muscle heals. I pulled my very first muscle on my birthday this year ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Michael - I feel your pain, some birthday gift. Thank you, it's so much better. :)
DeleteI loved your post, 'with guest'. No spoiler alert here - can't wait to read the results of her writing!!
The three things that inspired you are great.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Thank you. I'd like to have a successful 'moo' once in a while! Enjoyed your post - can you tell?!
DeleteCongratulations and thanks. Will have to get my thinking cap on.
ReplyDeleteThat's the Jo I know!! Will you include an inspiring recipe? Just kidding.
DeleteThank you for inspiring me...(smile).
You inspire me every day with your thoughtful words on this blog and your goofy cartoons on your other blog! You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteYou know, we sound like "Chip and Dale" ?? (I hope you know who they are.) (smile).
DeleteOh, and Dixie! You're a regular Alan Turing for breaking that 42 code! Don't eat any apples, eh?
DeleteYes, gawd help me, I'm old enough to know who Chip 'n Dale are. And not to confuse them with the male "exotic dancers!"
LOL. Yes, and I know why the Bees are in the margin. Not to worry - no spoiler alerts on this blog!(laughing).
DeleteOh gosh - those chipsters; I saw them once. I've been greatly confused since then.(smile).
Congrats! You deserve it because you are inspirational :)
ReplyDeleteAzra, that's so kind of you to say. I see the beauty of your world, and I'm glad we met! (smile)
Deletecongrats! And there are hearts everywhere here :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dezzy!! Yes, but I wanted red ones and I cannot find code for red... so pink will have to do. Aren't they sweet? The hearts are on all of my blogs!
Deleteyou have colour codes here: so if you have the code for falling heart gadget try to find colour in it and replace it with the code for red. http://html-color-codes.info/
DeleteOkay, I'll have a look. Usually I fix these problems with duct tape or a hammer.(smile).
DeleteOkay, I get WHY you were nominated for the award...but, me?! Really? I'm flattered that I inspired you. Either a) you're on drugs and don't know what you're doing or b) it doesn't take a lot to inspire you. lol I know, I couldn't resist being just a teeny bit silly this morning. Actually, I'm humbled by your thoughtful, generosity in extending the award my way. Gee, now I have a lot to live up to with receiving this high honor. Thanks a bunch, Dixie. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Cathy! You saw the part where I wrote: "They all love what they're doing."
DeleteThat's half the battle of living. Speaking of battle, hope to see you this Sunday @ BOTB!!!
(smile)
Hey Dixie,
ReplyDeleteApologies for not being around much. Have you missed me? Should have my new computer within the next couple of days and then it should be good.
Hearty congrats on getting that award. Can never have enough awards! :) Your renewed proactive stance is here for all to see. Well done and to congrats to those you forwarded it to.
My old computer is really acting up. I keep seeing pink hearts on my screen! :)
Your friend from way back,
Gary
Hi Gary. No apologies. Computer do seem to have a mind of their own. I do believe your fan base has missed your witty responses.
DeleteThank you for the kind words.
Pink hearts? Must be a new widget from Blogspot.
Dixie, aren't friends wonderful when you are feeling all that great? So nice to be thought of.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda.
DeleteI'm amazed at the number of blog hops, with which you're involved. I have two and get backed up at times.
I'm enjoying getting to know you! (smile)
Miraculous recoveries are always great. Hopefully that stinkin muscle heals up soon. Thankfully I never did that before but have screwed up nerves, ugg to those. Pink hearts everywhere!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat. I'd love a miraculous recovery at this point. Nerve damage is worse.
DeleteMaybe I meant to post falling snow, instead of falling hearts? Well, couple of days, they'll be gone (smile).
Congratulations on your award! And I'm so happy that your friend had a miraculous recovery. That is truly inspiring and worth celebrating.
ReplyDeleteYes it is, Chrys. Her daughter, whom I have never met, sent me a message this morning. Her Mom, my friend, will be discharged in two weeks!!! What an incredible journey this has been.
DeleteThank you so much! (smile)
I didn't know you had a muscle injury- belated sorriness! Not sure if you can get comfrey oil (we got it in health food stores) but it is the tried and tested favourite muscle tissue mender of myself and many of my fellow martial artists- apply externally though, don't drink it :-/ Thank you for my beautiful blogging award- the opportunity to inspire is a highpoint for me in writing and when I'm teaching- knowing that is makes a difference to another being is sublime :-) x
ReplyDeleteLisa, you are very welcome. It is my honor to read about your 'space' on this blue marble, called home. Coupled with your photos, I am often bowled over when I "see" what you've already painted in words. :)
DeleteI'll look for the comfrey oil... and no I won't drink it.(smile) x
Congratulations, DC. For your poem on my blog, alone, you inspire me. I love your creative wit.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Robyn. I couldn't resist. The words suddenly came from nowhere, I thought, geez, I hope she doesn't get mad... I don't think I even complimented your poem... and I really had laughed my head off at it!!!
DeleteIf you need help with that future Hallbark line, lemme know. I might have something else for you (smile).
It's snowing hearts here! You'd think it was Valentine's Day or something! ....oh, yeah, it's this week-end isn't it. You should see all the candy my wife's students gave her and I guess I may get stuck eating it all.

Tossing It Out
Lee, there are those who accept the daunting task of spreading the sweetness of life, without fear, without malice, without any hindrance to the inhabitants of this grand blue marble. You sir, are a real peach! I know you will take on this challenge, and create a better place for us to live.
DeleteAll it takes is an embrace, an ingestion, a contemplative attitude, to fully acknowledge the gift given. You remind us that no gift is given, nor received in vain!
Your weekend, sir, is one many of us would love to have... and yet...how many might squander it? Boldly go, (drooling) where few are chosen to venture. I salute you.
(Hearts? I was trying to add bubbles... dang widget.)
Well, the hearts sure are appropriate and I had to come back to see 'em again. I get kind of fixated watching them fall.
