Winter ~ a gift
An old fashioned Winter with footprints in snow The lights of the house are all shining ~ full glow This evening is quiet the birds settled down No wind is out playing ~ no flakes swirling 'round An old fashioned Winter with old fashioned love I hold dear this moment ~ a gift from above
It just came to me that you could collect your poems and publish a book with each of them being illustrated with warm paintings and illustrations. Such a warm coffee-table book that could be
Hi Michael. I watch this artist program called, "Put Some Colour in Your Life." It's from Australia with Graeme Stevenson. I can only get it on You Tube but I love it. He goes allover Australia, interviewing artists, and showcasing their work.
My point is this - your country has some of the most beautiful land in the world, if not the most beautiful of all. Each program, I think, "Okay, there's nothing to top this landscape," but no, the next program is even more amazing. Australia has some of the most uniquely talented artists in the entire world!
In summation, I could make that same statement you did about my little piece of the world! Thank you, though, that was a very kind statement.(smile)
Oh yes, I understand. Watching you free fall gave us all a big look at landscapes(whew!) That's one of the things that was fascinating about your jump. We got to see beyond you...into the surroundings... almost as if we were there. (I felt Mitch's pain - really, lol.)
Your talent is being creative and that's all an artist is... someone who creates a painting, a photo, a statue, a love for living (that's you).
It is a gift, Dixie. Thanks for the visit and shall look for you all on the 23rd.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol Anne. Thank you for visiting. I'm so glad to hear that!!

ReplyDeleteYou be my agent?
DeleteSuch a lovely poem and picture. I still love poems that have a rhyme! Thanks, Dixie.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. They pop in my head and I have to get them out (smile).
DeleteLovely poem and picture. I agree, I like my poetry to rhyme.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo. Do you anything on the current blog? I would think you'd be really something!!
DeleteThat picture looks very homely. Never get anything like that down under ;)

See, that's why I could never be an artist. Artists see things in this landscape that I don't :P
