Rose-pink Azaleas glow in the sunlight.
Clouds flirting with the blue sky.
Lawnmowers break their Winter silence.
Neighbor digging a trench for rain water runoff.
Varying winds ~ gentle breeze, sudden gusts.
Spring is here once again.
Do you have a favorite sight or sound, related to Spring?
It's certainly not the sound of the grass growing!
ReplyDeleteProbably rain. And light thunderstorms.
I hear you, Alex!
DeleteNo sight of snow is a win at my show
ReplyDeleteHa! You fooled me with that answer!
DeleteLots of rain and humidity in Dallas. Tons of pollen and sneezes pretty much sums up Spring for me.
ReplyDeleteBummer & you're also moving in this mess?!!!
DeleteI love the pink of the flowering plum trees and white of the almond trees that break out early each Spring here in Sacramento. Along with that, the scent of the orange blossoms in our neighborhood. Heady stuff, all.
ReplyDeleteYou are sooo right! Scent means Spring!
DeleteWe are actually getting some sunshine at last.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Dixie.
Yvonne.
Thank you, Yvonne. I need to get back to your A-Z today. Being a minion keeps me going.
DeleteWhen I lived up north I felt differently about spring. Now that I live in Florida, it's winter that I welcome with open arms. I just love the cool down.
ReplyDeleteI understand that. I love visiting my aunt in Orlando, but only at certain times, (smile),
DeleteThe smell of fresh cut grass is probably my favorite scent! And I love to smell someone cooking out on the grill...when you know someone is making something really yummy as the odor carries on the breezes. Love that!
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, the flowers that have strong scents, like those from my Star Jasmine. They're just about to bud out so I will be smelling them shortly.
A few weeks ago, we got a truckload of mulch and I remember standing at the back of the truck, breathing in that smell. It was wonderful!
But I think fresh cut grass trumps them all...
Nice poem!

>>..."a truckload of mulch..." Ooh, I love that.
DeleteMowed grass? Anywhere but at my house - lots to mow!
Spring is so much here, we had our heaviest snowfall since winter began. Looks pretty though but no sound.
ReplyDeleteBrrr, no more snow for me. I'll wait!
DeleteI love listening to the little "peeper" frogs when I come home at night. Warm days are coming!
ReplyDeleteNo peeps here yet but there's a big mouth bullfrog in the creek. He drives me nuts in late afternoon.
DeleteEvery time I read "drives me nuts," all I can think of is Popeye.
Delete"So, Mr. Popeye, how was your vasectomy?"
"Well, not so bad, not so bad. Me scrotum is sore, though."
"Sore? What do you do to help?"
"I gots me a little wagon to drive me nuts."
Oh ow... Oh Al!
DeleteSpring came here, lasted for two days and now it's full summer with freaking 30*C in April
ReplyDeleteBless your heart, and interior temps. I hate to crank up the air conditioning any sooner than I have to, Dezz.
