Vacation Scams
Summer is close by and the vacation ads are swarming like bees. Be sure and do your research on that supposed, lovely, 'two for one' cruise.
Speaking of cruise, I'm off to the backyard where more mulch has arrived. Looks like my summer vacation destination remains at home. Oh well, we all know, there's no place like... a free mulch pile. Right?

Vacation? What does this word mean?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Ha! I'm not sure either!
DeleteWe had a staycation last year but I hope we will get away somewhere this year.
ReplyDeleteJo - great word - 'staycation.' That'll be me this year!
DeleteAlways a good idea.
ReplyDeleteBut if I'm going to travel this summer, it's more likely to be visiting relatives or driving somewhere.
I went to the park but it seems they closed it due to some people trashing it. No overnight camping any more. Sad.
DeleteI do hope you'll have a safe and fun time!
Good warning about scams :) This is the first year in about 4 years that we can afford to take a vacation, but will take it in October :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Betty, I love going to the beach in October. A couple of times I even went deepsea fishing. It's great. I sit on the sand and draw a lot too. Things I can paint later.
DeleteI hope you'll have a good time wherever you go!!
Never fall for the scams!
ReplyDeleteNo matter how good they sound, right?!
DeleteBook a vacation one's self and ignore the scams, best way to be. Home works though
ReplyDeleteI love being home, Pat. Lots of things to love and love doing!
DeleteSnow flurries last night and this morning. I need a warm vacation.
ReplyDeleteOh Jono! Snow flurries? It was 85 degrees here a couple of days ago. We're on and off with cooler weather - but most typical of this part of the country.
DeleteI hoe you find a warm spot. Good to see you're back!! (smile).
Scams abound.
ReplyDeleteAs does mulch. I have about ten bags screaming my name.
10 bags - lucky you!!! I can't get enough. It looks so neat and pretty when it's finished.
DeleteSorry to be so late replying, thanks so much for your visit, Dixie, and glad you like my little 'office' x
ReplyDeleteCarole Anne - I think your office is charming!!
DeleteI'll be by to get the link for your book!! (smile)
I'm still hoping to get to Spain to see my son sometime this year.
ReplyDeleteLoved your post Dixie.
Yvonne.
Spain, Yvonne? I've never been there. Hope you get a photo and write a lovely poem. I do love your poetry!!! (smile)
DeleteOur vacations usually have a friend or family oriented slant, so we haven't tried any of those "two for ones". But your warning is a good one.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, this happened to a friend of mine. They've been planning this vacation for eight months, only to discover it was a scam.
DeleteWherever you go this year, post about it. I love to see people's choices of places to relax. (smile).
you're the mulch queen... wait, that didn't sound right :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! Yes I am and that sounds perfect!!
DeleteI've never been on a cruise. It sounds like it would be fun, but of course I'd do a lot of research first.
ReplyDeleteCan I have some of that mulch? ;)
You want mulch? I got mulch!!! You can have!!
DeleteOh Summer, how I miss thee. Shivering here in a jacket and waiting for the warmth to return. Until then, goodnight.
ReplyDeleteAw, didn't know it's winter time there. Stay warm, and good night, Michael. :)
DeleteYes, Dixsie, they have a very good teacher.
ReplyDeleteI watched the video - it was cute.
DeleteI've never been on a cruise and it doesn't really appeal to me. So I think I'll stay home too. Although escaping the winter to some warmer place does sound appealing….
ReplyDeleteKate, I'm thinking this winter to sit by my fireplace. As for summer - AC and a window view will be okay with me, (smile).
