I felt the need to sit down,
enjoy a moment of rest.
A light breeze moved my hair about, I brushed away the strands ~
In that moment,
I saw him.
He on the grass dancing, almost prancing, stopping to see ~
if she, interested in he,
was glancing?
And she was ~
If only it was that easy to get a woman's attention...
ReplyDeleteAlex, ninjas are invisible. Could that be a problem?
DeleteThat is so cute! And they are so pretty. I'm having fun watching the birds now that I have a house. :)
ReplyDeleteChrys, Thank you. I'm working on a painting, and observing them in the wild is helpful. It's especially nice that the ones I'm painting frequent my yard.
DeleteSo cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteCathrina, thank you. I enjoyed your post on IWSG.
DeleteWish humans worked that easy lol
ReplyDeleteI know Pat - we don't prance well.
DeleteWas that first one a Purple Martin? Who cares? What a lovely photo...and such a delightful post! ...except that it makes me remember that I must refill the bird feeder. ...I had a hummingbird stop by last year...
ReplyDeletePurple Martin? Could it be I uploaded the wrong bird. That would be a hoot:)
DeleteDiana, I really appreciate your kindness, and don't forget the hummingbirds.
By the way - I loved your post - Frida in diamonds, fireflies, and Heaven ~ There's a combo.
And she was figuring typical male bird, just prancing about for attention.
ReplyDeleteYeah, like, who brought berries???
DeleteLove that! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tyrean. I can't believe tomorrow is Friday!
DeleteCute pictures!! We have a lot of birds that look like those here :)
ReplyDeletebetty
They're so sweet and sound sweet. I'm not sure what they are, but some have more red than others, Betty.
DeleteThat is so beautiful and sweet! It's spring and romance is in the air! They don't call 'em the "Birds and the Bees" for nothing. lol
ReplyDeleteHa! Lexa... do tell. Lately I have birds on the brain.
DeletePure magic Dixie, loved the pictures and the written word.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Yvonne, my sweetest poem queen, from you that's pure gold!
DeleteBeautiful little thing that!!!
ReplyDeleteThat thar - yes! :)
Deletehe's a cute one. We have some new black bird that is nesting in our tree and is constantly in the yard. So often, that even my tomcat doesn't even pay attention to him anymore :) And we also have a pair of turtledoves always flying around the house.
ReplyDeleteI don't have many blackbirds but my neighbor does. I guess it's her berry tree.
DeleteOoh, Dezz, I love turtledoves. Such soft coloring.
I miss watching our birds, used to do it a lot in NC. Not allowed to have feeders on our balcony.
ReplyDeleteOh no, Jo. maybe there's a park you can visit. Take some bread for little ducks and millet for the birds...
DeleteDixie, I so enjoy your delightful little poems and stories.
ReplyDeleteLinda Kay - I bet I enjoy yours just as much, if not more... especially the mystery ones... whoo!
DeleteAwww…. cute! We don't have a lot of colorful birds in New Zealand. They're all kind of drab.
ReplyDeleteOh no, Kate, don't tell me that. I thought New Zealand would have the prettiest birds. I know nothing! (smile)
Deletea bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. (if you like birds)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, pilgrim! I gotz two rose bushes to plant next.
