The Garden of the Red Birds

While inventorying my latest garden for the next layer of beauty ~
I felt the need to sit down,
enjoy a moment of rest.

A light breeze moved my hair about, I brushed away the strands ~
In that moment,
I saw him.

He on the grass dancing, almost prancing, stopping to see ~
if she, interested in he,
was glancing?

And she was ~

    1. Chrys, Thank you. I'm working on a painting, and observing them in the wild is helpful. It's especially nice that the ones I'm painting frequent my yard.

    1. Purple Martin? Could it be I uploaded the wrong bird. That would be a hoot:)

Diana, I really appreciate your kindness, and don't forget the hummingbirds.
By the way - I loved your post - Frida in diamonds, fireflies, and Heaven ~ There's a combo.

  12. he's a cute one. We have some new black bird that is nesting in our tree and is constantly in the yard. So often, that even my tomcat doesn't even pay attention to him anymore :) And we also have a pair of turtledoves always flying around the house.

    1. I don't have many blackbirds but my neighbor does. I guess it's her berry tree.

Ooh, Dezz, I love turtledoves. Such soft coloring.

  15. Awww…. cute! We don't have a lot of colorful birds in New Zealand. They're all kind of drab.
