I love this blog hop!
Thank you to our co-hosts:

Each Friday, we post what we're celebrating - those small achievements for our week! It can be about writing, family, school or general life. Then we hop around other blogs, offering congratulations to other people. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is put your name on the linky list on Lexa's Cain's Blog.
What am I celebrating?
1 - My God-daughter gave me two colorful, easy clean blouses to for yard work. Almost time!
2 - An invitation to a coconut cream pie marathon. Yes! (Last week she made chocolate cake.)
3 - A congratulatory letter from the power company: "You are among the most efficient homes in your area for the year." SEE - all of those You Tube DIY videos on insulation, and caulking windows helped! (500 points under the norm of the average home. 200 points under the efficiency level homes.)
4 - Success with my new music blog, and the music blog hop I joined. I've had 16 people vote so far! The current battle closes out Friday at midnight. dcrelief ~ Battle of the Bands
I hope everyone has a fun celebration day! Thank you for hopping over here. See you soon, (smile).
And now ~ the linky vehicle we travel on... hop forth and celebrate!
That coconut pie reminds me of my dad, who has long since passed. Boy did he ever love a cream pie....chocolate, banana, butterscotch, etc. Make me hungry for one. Have a nice weekend, Dixie!
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon. This is interesting. Your post reminded me of my Mom, and old cards. Have a good weekend, friend.
DeleteGreat to celebrate the small things, wonderful post Dixie.
ReplyDeleteI'm celebrating I have actually moved.
Yvonne, thank you! I really enjoyed your poem. Must be a nice book. (smile).
Deletecoconut cream pie sounds nom nom nom
ReplyDeleteYes it does, Dezmond!
DeleteA fun post of celebrating the small things, Dixie. My hubby would like that coconut pie. I hope you weren't freezing in your house to get that award! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteNo, my home has been very comfortable. I did use the fireplace some. I enjoyed your post today, Linda Kay.
DeleteMmm, coconut cream pie sounds yummy! Am I over-looking your link to the recipe? *scratch head* Our 5-day weather forecast is greatly improved over this past week and I for one am very happy about that news. Let's hope the worst is behind us. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteNo link, a friend of mine is made it. She decided to give up her New Year's diet resolution! Last week she brought over chocolate cake. This week I'm going to her house for the pie. Woo-hoo! I'll get the recipe.
DeleteStay warm this weekend, Cathy.
My mom planted a vegetable garden in the back yard every year. She weeded and watered. My contribution was eating the veggies. lol Congrats on gardening garments, coconut cream confections, power-use praise, and Battle of the Bands blog bliss! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, Lexa, that covers it all! Thank you. I'll let you know when the veggies are in, (smile).
DeleteCanadians know alllllllll about insulation and caulking. Weather-stripping too, which is not what you think.
ReplyDeleteI understand, don't I? I weather-stripped two doors? Does that count?
DeleteI'm actually looking forward to yard work because it means all the snow will be gone. The pie marathon sounds fun. Make it banana cream, and I'm there. Have fun with your music blog and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOoh, banana cream - I'll let her know - there are many weeks left in 2015!!!
DeleteThanks, Lori, have fun this weekend.
The power company sends out congrats letters? Never knew that.
ReplyDeleteMe either. I hung it on the fridge, like parents do their kid's art work. ;)
DeleteA pie marathon? That sounds awesome! Congrats on the music blog success, and great job on being such an efficient household!
ReplyDeleteYes, someone has to help her celebrate her going of of her diet. I'm feeling altruistic. (smile)
DeleteThank you!!
Easy-clean shirts are the best, and a pie marathon sounds yummy. Congrats on the conservation! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI might wear a shirt to the marathon. That way, if I get carried away, it'll be easy to lose the evidence.
DeleteHave fun - great week for Tyrean!!!
A pie marathon sounds fun… Although I loathe coconut, so make mine lemon meringue!
ReplyDeleteLemon meringue will be wonderful. I'll see what I can work out for you!
DeleteYou wanna come over here and make my house energy efficient? You can feel a breeze from my front door when it is shut! Oy! Have a great weekend Dixie...I'm hopping over to you music blog now...I always forget about the Battle of the Bands...I need constant reminders ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, Katie, no! I had a free consultation with a company that repairs things like that. Instead I wrote everything down that he suggested. It's slow going but I'm almost done. According to the consult, my door like that, was costing me $5 a month in lost natural gas. At Lowe's or other hardware store, the kit to stop the air is about the same $5 cost. Get someone to do it for you - takes 5-6 minutes... maybe less time. (I sat on the floor to do mine.)
DeleteIf I lived closer, I'd come help you. Last year same time frame, I spent over $600 in natural gas. This year $217. Happy, happy!!
Thank you very much for voting in my battle! I just posted the results an hour ago!
Congrats on your music blog!!! Coconut Cream Pie sounds DELISH!!!
ReplyDeleteI have three blogs - I might be crazy. Wouldn't it be fun to send all of you pie?
DeleteThank you!!
Hooray for energy efficiency! Hooray for coconut cream pies! Hooray for spring and gardening! I love all those things! And I'll be sure to check out your music blog :) I love Plato's quote: 'Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.' We should all have music on our blogs x
ReplyDeleteLove Plato's quote too; thanks for sharing that.
DeleteAre you and the hunk home yet?
Where's my souvenir?
You've played some mean music at your house x.
You have a lot to celebrate! Congrats on the energy efficiency...well done. Coconut cream pie marathon? Don't know what it is but sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who made a New Year's diet resolution. She called last week and said she'd had enough. She brought over a huge chocolate cake. I was so sick, and I only had one piece. But ice cream with Hershey's syrup too was overkill.
DeleteThis week she called to say it's coconut cream pie. I think she has a new career here! (and a problem?) We call it a marathon - trying to see how far she can travel to get away from that resolution, I think. (Don't quote me.)
Oh the coconut cream pie invitation sounds amazing... what does it involve?
ReplyDeleteHi Tania! It involves me going to my friend's home, and helping her devour a coconut cream pie! She makes everything by hand which makes it amazing.
DeleteShe spent almost three months on her New Year's Diet Resolution, and didn't lose a pound. So she's mad!
I was at someone's site, maybe two sites this week, and read about your book. Congratulations!!
Do you give lessons in the efficiency thing? =)
ReplyDeleteI keep scrolling up to look at that pie!!!
Hi Kelley. I'm wondering if I should write a manual?
DeleteThat pie was outrageous.
Not sure I can handle hot fudge sundaes this week? She's on a roll!!
