Celebrate the Small Things ~

I love this blog hop!
Each Friday, we post what we're celebrating - those small achievements for our week! Then we hop around other blogs, offering congratulations to other people.  And if everyone visits at least a few other blogs, we'll all have some congratulations.

Thank you to our sponsor and co-hosts!!

What am I celebrating?

1 - I'm celebrating finding ice cream in my freezer. I pulled a leg muscle and thought I didn't have any chocolate - this works! And, no I don't actually put the ice cream on the muscle.

2 - Having the nicest God-daughter in the world. Monday is laundry day, but it was the same day I pulled the muscle. She took over, and I'm so celebrating having her help! (Thank you, Lisa!)

And, # 3 - I found my "Snowman hat." Send the snow - I'm ready!!!

I hope everyone has a fun celebration day. Thank you for hopping over here! And now ~  the linky vehicle we travel on...

  1. I hope the ice cream helped with the pulled muscle even if you didn't apply it directly to the site….

    1. Kate, the secret to me, is the chocolate coating. Something about dark chocolate helps my pain. (That's my story, at least).

      Thank you!

    1. Hi Laura. Thank you. I suppose my upbringing drove that one home!

  3. That comic is hilarious! I'm sorry to hear about your pulled muscle. Yay for ice cream and kind God-daughters. (Interestingly, last night Hubby and I just realized we've run out of ice cream. Oh no! It's on the buying list now.)

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I'm so flattered to be your idol!! I hope you enjoyed the posts on my blog. They used to be a bit more interesting, but writing novels takes up a lot of my time now...

    1. Lexa - I love that comic; too bad we didn't hear Louie's story! Ice cream is a mainstay in the winter... summer time, I rarely eat it.

In the past year it became important to me, to go back and look at what was written by a person, before the day "we met," so to speak. It's interesting to hear the writer's own story and daily thoughts. I'm having a great time doing this! I would hope you continue having a great time doing what you wish. (smile)

  4. I get sore throat if I eat or drink anything cold during winter :( How old is the goddaughter?

    1. Oh Dezmond! I never thought cold beverages or foods would bother someone in Winter. I always ate snow cream when I was a child. Lisa is your age, and just as cute!!(smile)

  5. I'm sorry to hear about the pulled muscle. Sometimes the muscles in my lower back will act up. It's usually intestinal related, but it's quite painful and there is little I can do about it until my stomach straightens out. So...I know how uncomfortable you must be. At least you have your God-daughter helping you during your recouping period. Hopefully you won't be down too long and back to feeling more like yourself. What am I celebrating?! Okay, I'm celebrating the amazing progress my FIL is making since his hospital admittance on Monday. He is a fighter and God is amazing. I'm not sure how much time the Lord will keep him with us, but he is 91 and has had a full, rich life. There are some who can't say that. I'm celebrating the sunshine. For the next two days, we'll have plenty of it and on Saturday the temps are expected to be in the low 50s. So, yippee!!! Thanks for the visit and take it easy, Dixie!

    1. Oh Cathy - thanks for the update on your FIL. I wondered after reading about him, how things would go. 19 or 91, makes no difference to me - all our precious. Yes, Cathy - God is amazing - you have my best thoughts and prayers!

So crazy here. Days of overcast skies with cold, and I couldn't work in the yard. Now the last three days of sunshine and I have a banged up leg! Why?? But is is so nice seeing a big blue sky with that golden orb!

I'll stop over today - have to see what the topic is - you always surprise me!! (smile)

  10. That reminds me that I still have a tub of ice cream in the freezer that I need to get rid of. It's been there for so long that now its mostly ice with hardly any cream. How could I have let that happen?

    1. Hahahaha, Robin! Blue Bell on sale and... you didn't? If you pull a muscle, go to bed. Don't do what I did and think you need to exercise it.(ow & smile)

    1. Yes, Azra. If it snows I'm in great shape with that hat. No one knows me in the grocery store without it. It can be lonely, lol.

  16. Wow, I would love to find ice cream hidden in my freezer. Moosetracks, peppermint ice cream, chocolate, whatever. Maybe I need to hide chocolate around my house so that I can find happy surprises when I need them. My little scavengers, I mean kids, will probably find them all and eat them, though.

If you have a foam roller, try that on your pulled muscle. It might help.

Take care and have a good weekend!

    1. Kimberly... a foam roller... wonderful. That would work. There's one spot driving me crazy.

Ice cream in the freezer? I have a habit of wrapping it in freezer paper, and may think it's a roast... it gets forgotten. Then I go to grab a roast, but viola, mocha-hocha, sumpin-sumpin, ice cream emerges! No freezer burn!

      have a great weekend!!

  17. I think we're just skipping over the life-altering discovery that your freezer makes you ice cream!

    1. Michael, you know what I think would life-altering? If I had a refrigerator option that included pumping out ice cream cones. You can buy them with ice or water units, right? Yes, maybe I'll work on that this year. (smile)

  18. Life without ice cream would be a sad, sad day. Is that even possible? Hope that pulled muscle is temporary. Have a nice weekend!

  20. While ice cream isn't as good as chocolate, it will do :) I hope your muscle heals up quickly. I once pulled a muscle on my side by trying to catch myself falling off the bed...I should have just let myself fall! That thing hurt like a mofo for months!

    1. Katie - I hope things are going better for you. I haven't to your place in a couple of days. Haha, this ice cream had a chocolate shell, like 'Polar Bears." Tomorrow I go to replenish the M&Ms stock - my doctor got on me for running out one time. I've got a walker with wheels and that helps a lot.

Glad you felt like stopping by. Take care of you. (smile)
