Thank you to our host, and co-hosts:

What am I celebrating?
1 -This turned out great for me. I used lighter colored frames, but you get the picture, right?
2 - This weekend, it's me, a book that I can doze with, and a blankie...
3 - The "Battle of the Bands" blog hop I joined is a lot of fun. February is love music(smile).
Look at that chocolate violin!!
I hope everyone has a fun celebration day. Thank you for hopping over here!
And now ~ the linky vehicle we travel on...
I love the picture wall idea! There aren't many things better than snuggling in a blanket on a winter's night and reading. Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lexa, I agree!!
ReplyDeleteA book, a warm blanket on a cold night, and the gorgeous pic arrangement. You'll have a good weekend. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn, I intend to give my all! (smile). Enjoy your weekend too.
DeleteI love that idea of pictures going along the stairwell! And that blankie and book looks inviting! Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteLoved your 'celebration' post. Enjoy your weekend too.
DeleteI like the idea of the frames following the stairs, but I don't like how they are arranged in that photo. I'm sure you did a much better job in the house!
ReplyDeleteI also hung less photos - arranged them on the living room floor first. It's like a mini-gallery.
DeleteNow me I like the chocolate guitar. You can keep the book and blankie, I will just sit quietly in a corner with my guitar.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, Jo!!!
DeleteDixie, I'm with Jo on the chocolate guitar. We don't have a stairwell, but we do have a long hallway with pictures on both sides. One side is collected art work, the other of framed photos hubby has taken.
ReplyDeleteI have a log hallway too but I'm afraid I'll knock them down! Okay, chocolate your way!
DeleteLooks like you've secured yourself a perfect evening! I love the wall decor and want to slurp on the violin :p

Oh yes, "Shackletons's Folly." I was by to see you earlier. What a terrific book! That's a nice one to celebrate... and the author is cute(smile).
DeleteAnother chocolate lover!
Snuggling down with a good book sounds good to me! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAny particular book?
ReplyDeleteI love "The Prophet," by Kahlil Gibran. Short chapters - perfect for those in between noddings! (smile)
DeleteOoh, that violin looks delicious... I mean, what a work of art! I like the photo-wall-up-the-stairs idea. What a great way to showcase family pictures! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori - I wish I could ship everyone a chocolate violin!
DeleteI love that stairwell wall of photos. I would love to be able to do something like that, but alas, I doubt it will ever happen.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, snuggling up with a book under a blanket is like heaven. Hope you got some kitty purrs to go along with it! I just finished up The Mime Order today so I will be going through my library (yeah, the one in my dreams) and pull out another book. :)
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you saw my Celebrate the small things posts instead of the one you commented on. Maybe you meant to comment on that one. :P Thank you for stopping by and letting me know you were there.

Hi Jaime! I did go back about an hour ago. I usually make two rounds just in case I miss someone. I'll have another look... I never know what I might miss! Thank you(smile).
DeleteMmm, yum-yum a chocolate violin! Like I need that? I don't think so, but it sure is tempting. This looks like a fun meme. I will have to consider looking into as time permits. I have my BOTB post nearly done for Feb. 1st and am looking forward to participating. I celebrate music! ;) Have an awesome weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am sooo enjoying your blog home! Home Economics - really!!
DeleteCan't wait to see what you post on BOTB! It is fun. You have a great weekend too. I'll stop in tomorrow(smile).
Chocolate violin? *drool*
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great weekend, and ooh that chocolate violin looks yum!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura. I'm seriously contemplating that book you shared - "642..." Wow!
DeleteIsn't it funny, Laura, no one mentions the rose (smile)?
I really like the style of those frames on the wall.. so cute:) And yes, I will have some chocolate violin please:) Yum.
ReplyDeleteHi TF. Chocolate on the way! Have a Happy Australia Day and weekend!
DeleteA chocolate violin and a rose . . . sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
You're the first one to mention the rose! So we;ll send you both.
DeleteStay off of that foot. I'm sorry you'll miss teaching skiing!
That frame thing looks great! I also love being alone in the house :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael. Me too - got the fireplace going...
DeleteI guess you celebrate Australia Day too? If so, have a great time!
I'm impressed you knew that :)
DeleteHa! Throw some shrimp on the 'barbee' for me :p
Deletethe pictures look great, do you use a big feather duster to keep them clean?
ReplyDeleteHi Billy. I have one with an extension pole. It's great. It also bends sideways so I can do ceiling fans.
DeleteHave fun weekend!
Thanks for your celebrations, Dixie, and glad you also like poetry.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carole Anne - I'm checking on your book tomorrow. You are one talented lady!
DeleteSounds like you've had a wonderful week and have an even better weekend approaching! I agree with the many others that love the photo wall and think your blanket/ book/ fireplace combination sounds like heaven! Enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lena. I was so late seeing your post and apologize, but I am so glad I visited you! Yours was the very best "Celebrate the Small Things" post I read. I am grateful for your visit as well.
DeleteI've got the book and the blanket ready - waiting on the peanut butter cookies to come out of the oven! Have a fun weekend.
I loved everything about this post! I used to have my pictures arranged in a similar fashion in my old apartment years ago. I'm planning on doing the same this weekend as far as the reading-slash-blankie. :) When I'm done though, I'll be working on a review too. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to save me a piece of that chocolate!! I'm gonna need it after PT. Have a fantastic night! Hugs, Eva
Thank you, Eva! You know my chiro has me eat M&Ms(with p-nuts), for pain. No joke; I can usually have 3-4 and I'm good for several hours. I don't know what it is about chocolate... but who cares??
DeleteI wish I could ship everyone a chocolate violin... shoot, a small harmonica would work, right?
Hope you post the review! Hugs to you!
The blanket and book look divine! And that's a great idea for pictures along the stairwell...I'm going to have to let it inspire my empty wall. Pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny Tonja. I have one wall that I've been collecting frames I like - no pictures, just the frames. Maybe one day there'll be a theme, and I'll fill them.
DeleteHave a divine weekend!
Yes, Dixie, we all have this need to talk about our problems, don't we, and thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole Anne. Yes we do, and you are so kind to share your life experiences, through verbal and written communication. I am grateful to you.
DeleteP.S. I was at your bookstore site, and such amazing drawings with your books! I have never published any of my children's stories, but would love to read some of yours. To me, stories geared toward children are some of the most wonderful of all.
Sounds (and looks) like a lovely week. A nice warm blanket and a good book on a cold winter day? I'm sold! And I love the concept of having photos along the staircase. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Caffe Maggieato! Yes - it has been nice.
DeleteI was reading your blog interview, today... very nice... see you again soon. :)
That is so cool! I am not brave enough to do tricks with framed stuffs on the walls. You're an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAw, Kelley - thanks but there's a trick and I guess I need to post it. Makes hanging them so easy.
DeleteI saw that you'll be in Raleigh... I might get there... maybe. I'll let you know.
