Outsource politicians? Oh why not? What a great idea! The thought of sending some of Washington's finest to Siberia... gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Ah, let's not be greedy and send a few to Darfur... gives new meaning to, 'made in China'.
And maybe, just maybe, we'll insource some politcians from other countries for ourselves... but who? Whom? (Never could get those two right.) I for one would accept Prince Harry in a heartbeat! No he's not a politician, but he makes me smile. That's more than Washington's affect on me.
Speaking of outsourcing... USA Olympic uniforms were made in China? Outragious! To those 406 atheletes, I say, put on something from your own closet that says, 'made in USA' and wear it!!!! We are a diverse nation, so our clothing does not have to match. Better yet, send Ralph Lauren's outfits to Washington's politicians. At least they'll look nice when they arrive overseas.
Ralph Lauren promises 2014 Olympic Opening Ceremony outfits will be American-made.
Ah Dixie,
ReplyDeleteWe shall send you over Prime Minister David Cameron and the entire royal family.
In exchange we get George 'Dubbya' Bush. Forget that. Just send us some decent coffee! :)
Who knows, maybe the Chinese uniforms were made in the U.S.of A.. Somehow, I doubt that.
What say you get your travelling politicians to dress up in seventies clothes...
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, eh.
Gary
Politicians are politicians. As Peggy Noonan says, they're bound to disappoint. They can't help it, that's just the way they are.
ReplyDeleteHere's my view of them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8185675@N07/4976233288/
I see almost nothing is made in the U.S.A anymore. Once jobs are outsourced, it is unlikely that those jobs will coming back.
ReplyDeleteWhile competing for lower cost of manufacturing, we are in essence racing to the bottom. Jobs won't come back unless we can accept lower wages as low as the third world countries, working long hours, with no benefits, no vacations..etc.
Now, we have cities going into bankruptcy. Various government positions including policeman and fireman, etc are being layoff and/or forced to accept minimum wage.
What made America great was manufacturing. Now manufacturing skills, technologies, wealth are being transferred out of this country. This is why you have been hearing that Americans need to be smarter and need to be retrained and reeducated.
I wish I have better things to say about outsourcing.
It's the way the world is today regarding manufacturing. In our supermarket, at the time of the Queens Jubilee, there were big banners and signs stating 'The Best Of British' and a special display of childrens' clothes - all of the garments were made in Taiwan, Indonesia and India! So much for Best of British!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome to our Prime Minister Cameron, by the way, and the main Labour opposition party leaders. If there was an election tomorrow I don't feel I could vote for either.
Dear Dixie,
ReplyDeletePlease, please take David Cameron and his cabinet in your little outsourcing experiment. Mind you, given what he's doing to our country, I don't think I should force him onto anybody else!
Great idea, though, Dixie.
Very Best Wishes,
David.
Hi Dixie. If an example of outsourcing is call-centres based in India then please exclude me from it!
ReplyDeleteIt's not their fault but I just can't understand what they are saying. Many TV ads now claim 'our call-centres are UK based' because there so much frustration with Indian ones.
Q: How can you tell when a politician is lying?
A: Because their lips are moving.
I am most grateful to each of you that commented. Your visits are always appreciated as well. There's not one comment that I disagree with. That in and of itself is proof that the world is changing everywhere.
ReplyDeleteOnce I was told that the definition of insanity was: "making the same mistake over and over again, expecting different results." So are we now living in an insane world? I pray for justice.
Thank you all, again, Dixie
Yeah, I never did understand why they were wearing uniforms mad in China. That was screwed up and totally unacceptable. I don't remember the excuses that were given but I know it was wrong.
ReplyDeleteLike the countless jobs we've outsourced, I think it would be a great idea to 'insource' some new blood into our political system. It might give us a better perspective and greater insight in how we, as an entire race of people can work together- if we only try.
