Destined to reign
I found this final photo to be a bit haunting; Her majesty seems so alone. The photographer, Annie Leibowitz, wanted to shoot the photo without her majesty wearing her crown... but it didn't happen. Oh, maybe Annie wanted to portray "the woman behind the crown." Might make a nice interest story but I suppose the Queen would want her privacy regarding personal life events. After all her days for sixty years have been filled with the kingdom's business. Regardless of what anyone thinks, she's always had my respect. Happy Sixtieth Jubilee!

I think the Queen has done her duty well and from such a young age.
ReplyDeleteShe's a very attractive woman!
ReplyDeleteI saw the Queen last week when she visited an Art Exhibition at our local park as a part of her sixtieth anniversary tour of Great Britain. She is an extremely hard working woman and had three engagements that day and she is just about to celebrate her 86th Birthday.

By the way - I hope you didn't really think that I thought that lamb was a cat!
ReplyDeleteDear Mike, I totally agree. She has a face full of confidence and grace.
ReplyDeleteCheerful Monk! You are so right. Some people just age better than others.
ReplyDeleteBazza, I think it would be the neatest thing to meet her! I know it's impolite to covet; still wish I'd been standing there with you to cheer for HRH.
ReplyDeleteNo way, Bazza... and you didn't really believe I thought it was a long-legged rabbit, right?
