Stripping away the rose colored glasses of denial concerning my reality. Getting in touch with truth. Reaching out to others in empathy concerning their reality and their walk to truth.

Ready
I watched the rain fall from the sky
A million drops to make a puddle.
The birds don't sing and they don't fly,
But sit on limbs bunched in a huddle.
The clouds are soft and disappearing.
Is that golden light a ray of sun?
Could it be the storm is clearing?
Are the rain clouds on the run?
I cross my heart and fingers too,
And hope that sunshine fills the earth.
I long to see a sky of blue
display the joy of rainbow's birth.

Hi. We've been a bit short of rain in southern England for few months so gardeners are writing poems in praise of rain! We humans are never satisfied are we?
ReplyDeleteHowever, this lovely little poem is nicely evocative of what it's like to watch a rainy day through a window.

Simply beautiful, Dixie! The picture is the perfect complement to your rainy-day poem. I have to tell you, I love seeing a poem posted with a picture to emphasize its meaning. And your picture/poem is so appropriate for the weather we've been having. Rain, rain, rain...
ReplyDeleteMom's been in the hospital for going on three weeks. She had surgery, it was touch and go for a while, but she's improving now. The doctors think she'll be home by next week. My fingers are crossed for good luck!
Hope you have a glorious weekend, Dixie. May the sun shine as brightly as you do, my friend.:-)
Blessings,
M.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Bazza. I truly love the rain but not the lightening. It always keeps me inside.
ReplyDeleteLovely comment from you.
Hi M.
ReplyDeletePlease tell your Mom hello from me. I think of her often. I'll cross my fingers too, as soon as I finish typing this!!
Thank you for the lovely comment.
Peace and love,
Dixie
