To my friend: Hazelmarie Elliott (mattie)

Time, space or place will never change the feelings I have~
your thoughts often inspire me to travel on
as I've my own song~
yet once thought to borrow a chorus from you

The wind is strong today~
yes indeed, "farewell for now"
I release your hand at the first steps' landing
but the chorus will forever play in my heart

Tell God and Fate, hello~

  1. Dearest Dixie,

You have moved my heart and stirred my thoughts so many times with your gentle words, and your lovely paintings ...and you've done so again with these last words you've posted.

Ours has been a nurturing friendship, an enduring one over the past year or so. I think Aristotle said it best, 'Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies'...And what a friend you've been.(smile)

Yes, the wind is strong today. I feel it lifting me with its strength...I leave you with my favorite quote from the Bible...

'There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.'
    (ECCLESIASTES 3)

And there is a time for letting go...

Stay strong and be well, dear friend. Using Gary's words, 'stay positive'.(smile)

    'Til next time,
    Mattie

  2. Dear Dixie,
Lovely words and a lovely gesture, too.
I have also read Mattie's poem, "farewell", and was similarly moved.
    Hoping you are very well.
    With Very Best Wishes,
    David.
