If you don’t mind
I’m reliably blind
The candle is my only glow
It speaks to my heart
It renders life’s spark
For sharing the path that I go
While burning both ends
I must never pretend
That I have the answers for show
My new candle’s ready
In time I am steady
To light up the night and sow
Dear Dixie,
ReplyDeleteAnother nice poem to think about, although I have to admit the meaning of it is a little elliptical for me. Then again, some poems are just beautiful without you having to fully understand what they mean. I think I just about get the gist of it, though.
So, happy writing! I hope this was what they call "constructive" criticism, and not the purely derogatory kind!
Hope you write again soon,
With Warmest Regards,
David.
Hi Dixie,
ReplyDeleteI know the flame of hope glows brightly within your soul.
Thanks for your lovely poem
Glowing wishes your way, Gary x
Hi David,
ReplyDeleteI really like the presence of candles when communicating. Not that they represent anything of mystery or intrigue. They simply remind me to listen, hold my opinion back, and send good thoughts to the person who's talking, typing, calling, or writing. It's simply a personal preference.
Thank you David; your comment is just fine.
Most sincerely,
Dixie
Hi Gary,
ReplyDeleteThank you for that lovely comment. It is my pleasure to learn your thoughts on hope and the soul.
