I love this Uber Blog Hop: Celebrate the Small Things
We are celebrating those small achievements we've had for our week! Sharing about health, wealth, writing, family, or school... you name it, and we'll celebrate with you! We do this by hopping to each other's blogs, offering congratulations. And for those times you need encouragement, this is the best blog hop group ever!! We are empathy, en masse! Consider joining us by adding you name at Lexa Cain's blog site.
We are coordinated and directed by:
And two lovely co-hosts assist her:
What am I celebrating?
1- Those who have joined this blog hop; our diversity and talents keep it interesting.
2- After six days the sun has returned; my last flower bed is calling me. Mulch time!
3- Neighbor swap: she wanted a wrought iron chair I had; I wanted her lamps.
One pair of plain looking lamps that I'll transform, using crystal necklaces.
I hope everyone has a fun celebration day! And now ~ the linky vehicle we travel on... ~ Hop forth and celebrate!
Please see Lexa Cain's site for the linky list. We're still having spammer problems! Sorry.

Great reasons to celebrate this week:) We've just had the sun come out today as well:) Might need that umbrella for the sun not the rain we've been having.
ReplyDeleteHi Tania! I've been out in the flowerbed most of the morning. Lovely sunshine, but a bit cool - almost done!
DeleteI hope you have plenty of sun, your way!
I'm starting to celebrate already that I'm almost done with my first A2Z :)
ReplyDeleteYou can find me here:
ClarabelleRant
I hear that, Clarabelle!!!
DeleteGood choice for "U" . we;re nearly to the end of the challenge Dixie.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Thank you, Yvonne... I think I'll get a t-shirt too.
Deletewe do love crystals.... sparkle all the way
ReplyDeleteAren't they pretty, Dezz?
DeleteHappy weekend to you, hope you'll get to use your umbrella...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shadow. I sat out a few minuted this morning, while working on the flowerbed.
DeleteHow cool with the neighbor swap! I always like bright colorful umbrellas, especially on rainy days or to enjoy time outside on a sunny day without being directly in the sun.
ReplyDeleteto answer your question about the picture with the bank sign, its not in a moat, it just had rained the night before so there were some puddles around :)
betty
I have a second, larger umbrella. I'm toying with the idea of making a new cover. We'll see.
DeleteHey thanks. I wondered about the water!!
loving all your poetic quips to go with your posts - my fave is the quickcrete/chicken patio! awesome!
ReplyDeleteand i used to do that weekly hop, i barely get in a post a week now... might have to stop back by!
happy u day!
Tara, that chicken brought lots of attention. I'd like to see his other designs! :)
DeleteI love 'Celebrate.' I've met some of the kindest and most talented people!
Thanks, and happy u day, to you!
Unfortunately Ol' man Winter is back here at the moment, supposed to warm up again on Monday though. Not as bad as some of the States though according to the TV
ReplyDeleteReminds me of that movie called, "Groundhog Day." You never know what you'll wake up to - but it feels like the same as a month ago. :)
DeleteNothing wrong with a good swap. But umbrellas don't keep the bugs away. Inside is where I'll stay.
ReplyDeleteI spray my umbrellas with bug spray. I use citronella candles. Plant marigolds near by. No water or other light sources helps to discourage them.
DeleteLove your celebrations! Neighbor swaps are cool! And, I agree that this hop definitely brings out a diverse and wonderful group of people!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tyrean. I do appreciate everyone on this hop. I've have learned so much, and laughed until I've cried!
DeleteI've always wanted one of those big umbrellas on a porch. A neighbor swap sounds cool. :)
ReplyDeleteChrys, it was so cool. My neighbor was taking the lamps out to the road for trash. I stopped to find out if they worked - they're a bit plain, but "pretty bones." Lifted the tail gate in my van and there was the wrought iron chair I was taking to "Goodwill". She went nuts over the chair -matches three others she has. Instant gratification.
DeleteIt's still cold in Chicago. My tulips are all out, but it's too cold for me to garden.
ReplyDeletePrecious Monsters
On no! My tulips came and went. Now the purple irises are budding!
DeleteSounds as though you are very positive and busy. My summerhouse, the one I've wanted for over twenty years, arrives in May, so at last I shall be able to work outside and be warm, away from my north facing office in the house. Your seating looks delightful.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole Anne. I wish I could claim that photo as mine but the camera died. Actually my umbrella is bigger, sits over a big picnic table, with red wicker furniture just beside it. Down the path behind the wicker is the Gazebo, which I really love the most!
DeleteI know you're excited. I'm excited for you. I love my office/ studio, and it's facing east with the sunrise! Keep me updated!!
I can't wait to see how you transform your lamps! Enjoy your weekend Dixie!
ReplyDeleteKatie @TheCyborgMom
I almost have the pattern nailed. I want a beach landscape - made from the two strands of beads (left side and center). Then do the ocean and a wave from the blue/green beads on the right.
DeleteMy entire house is a beach theme.
Enjoy your weekend. I've had funny watching Emmie!!
hah! We live in Weed which stands for Wind Expected Every Day! No umbrellas for us!
ReplyDeleteHa! Pretty funny! but I live in, Heck which stands for... Aw heck that umbrella is stuck in the open position again; happy summer to me!
DeleteHi human, Dixie,
ReplyDeleteI am noting to my alleged human, Gary, that your life has become a celebration of the small wonders, the wonders ignited by the inner child. We are both delighted to see you so interactive these days. My poor human is not well at all at it's good to see how well you are progressing.
A lampshade for creativity and the shade provided by an Umbrella, Ella, ella, eh, eh, eh....
Keep going, my human friend, Dixie. And happy Alphabetting! Arf!
Pawsitive wishes,
Penny :)
Hi Penny. What I like the most is getting to travel the world, one letter at a time. I know you're not participating in the posting part but I hope you're enjoying the wonderful talents others are sharing,
DeleteI imagine your own readers are waiting for you to post and reopen comments, to wish you well.
>>"A lampshade for creativity and the shade provided by an Umbrella, Ella, ella, eh, eh, eh....".
That's a cute statement! Take care :)
If only the spammers could leave us alone. But once you get around them, it's fun talking to everybody and getting visitors.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I checked out the linky tool app. It recommended using a closing date... will drop a line of to Lexa soon.
DeleteThat umbrella-ed nook looks very inviting. I hope you'll post photos of the lamps when you get them decorated. I wish it would warm up here so I can garden comfortably. It was in the 40s again today. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteIn the 40s - mercy!
DeleteThanks, Lori. Those lamps are going to be fun. Can't decide it I want to stitch the necklaces in place or use glue.
Perfect....I'm so ready for summer. Time to get out the barbecue. Have a nice weekend, Dixie!
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready yet, Sharon but i did get a bbq recently!
DeleteEnjoy your weekend, too, Sharon!
Your poems are so funny! Love the "U" one. You had such a smart idea with the chair and the lamps trade! I hope you'll put up pictures of them when they're decorated. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Don't miss the letter "X"... I'll borrow the god-daughter's camera, and give photography a chance,
DeleteThank you - have a wonderful, spam free weekend!!
Yay gardening! I think we've finally gotten our yard caught up this week. For now.
ReplyDeleteCheers to you!
Hi Kelley- would you believe it got cold and rained again?!! I may finish Tuesday-Wednesday.
DeleteYou have a great week, Lady. That schedule looks full! :)
