Celebrate the Small Things - perfect roast!

This is Blog Hop November 7, 2014. This is what I am celebrating:

My renewed interest in cooking produced a roast that was beautiful to look at, and very tasty - finally!

"Celebrate the Small Things" is a weekly bloghop hosted by Viklit over at "Scribblings of an Aspiring Author. The idea is to post anything you want to celebrate from the last week. You will also find complete instructions and rules there, should you want to participate!

  1. That looks so good. Maybe I'll fix a roast this weekend. I always think of a roast as cold weather food, and it's warmed up again here.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Believe me I have killed my share of cattle - not just single cuts of beef here and there. LOL. Hey there's FedEx, where are you? I could send you one!

  4. That is fabulous looking! I'm so impressed you cooked that. Can you imagine I've never made a roast? (or a turkey) I think large meats are scary! LOL

    1. Thank you. I was so happy! I'll be roasting one for a neighbor tonight. He'll be doing a small repair on my home tomorrow!
I should have posted the recipe!!! It's basically the same thing I do with chicken pork chops, london broil - turkey is different.
Come one Lexa - you could do this!!

  6. I've seen you over at Dezzies and thought I'd pop over and say hello. I'm a miniature painter and have seen you at Fran's and Loki's (Andrew) as well.

That roast looks perfect. Just the right amount of fat and well seared on the outside. And I see the makings of a good gravy in the bottom of that pan.

    1. Hi Anne! Glad you could visit and thank you for joining my journey. I love the comments you leave at Fran's. I was thinking I saw you at Pickleope's and Blue Grumpster's too. Love, love Dezzy and Loki too!!
The gravy was a sin - shh - and I had some biscuits to help clean up the act! I cheat and use "Bisquick". Have a great week. I'll visit you soon; would love to see your paintings. So far I'm still doing 16x20 canvas. That could change if paint prices go up ^. Thank you.

    1. It was very good, Melissa! I have this deal going on with a couple of neighbors. They buy the food and I cook. In return I get part of the food or swap some other task/repair job from them. It's working out beautifully.

Just wanted to congratulate you, again on the recent engagement. Also I appreciate your visit, and thank you for joining my journey! I see you have a new post - I'll go check it out!

    1. Hi Kelley. The photo is stage one, where you want that beautiful searing and the juices that it produces. Once I stopped using non-stick pans, the searing was perfect! The next step is putting it in a bigger pan so veggies will fit with it. Unfortunately I keep adding the veggies too soon. They come out mushy still (sigh). But oh it is yummy!

You have quite an interesting blog and career! I spent some time roaming around it. Loved your post on 'gratitude'. Thank you very much for visiting me.
