~ and so this is Easter...

I've never been able to correlate the Easter celebration with the truth of Passover. Jesus didn't celebrate Easter with his disciples. He didn't tell them to eat chocolate bunnies "in memory of me." He ate the Passover meal with his disciples. He explained the holy day's meaning and how God was fulfilling  a gift through him. When I read about Passover and looked at the life of Jesus, it all fell into place for me. My own experience has proven things to be very real. But that's me and this is my blog... and this is what I wanted to post.

Each person's experience brings them closer or takes them further from this message. So even if you don't get it today, it doesn't mean you'll never understand what I'm saying. Likewise, it doesn't mean you'll ever believe like I do. Either way, I'm not a judge; I have no expectation.

Thanks for reading ~ dc

Really?

  1. Hi Dixie,

It's gone four in the morning on Saturday and I'm bleary eyed. However, I will comment on your posting before I do something weird like try to sleep.

Of course, the sad reality is that the partaking of chocolate Easter bunnies is just a cynical commercial ploy to profit from Easter.

Be well, my dear friend. Have a peaceful, positive Easter.

    In kindness and goodwill,

    Your friend,

    Gary :)

  2. Hi Dixie,
I do like chocolate bunnies, but I guess they don't really encapsulate the spiritual message of Easter. Personally, I'm not a big believer, but as you say in your post, everyone is entitled to their own point of view.
    Anyway, Happy Easter Dixie!
    Very Best Wishes,
    David.

  3. Commercialisation has hijacked the religious festivals and turned them into something else - unfortunately. There's money in bunnies.

    But love still remains regardless.

  4. Gary, David, and Mike:

I'm so glad you came by and left a comment. My apologies for late returning to respond.

Yes sir, bucks for bunnies! ("Bucks" being slang for money on this side of the pond.)

Oddly I did not think to purchase anything this year, related to this holiday. However my favourite junk store has the little malted peeps on sale; could be I bust a move to get by there!!

My kind wishes for better weather, there, and a happy spring.

    Dixie
