Seeing is believing?

Such an amazing athlete. Alistair and I wanted to showcase him on our blog. We really hope you saw the Archery competition.

This is a Korean name; the family name is Im.
Im Dong-Hyun (born May 12, 1986) is a South Korean archer. He competes for the South Korean national team. He has 20/200 vision in his left eye and 20/100 vision in his right eye, meaning he is legally blind in his left eye and needs to be 10 times closer to see objects clearly compared to someone with perfect vision.

2012 Summer Olympics
On 27 July 2012 at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he set a new world record score of 699 in the ranking round at Lord's Cricket Ground.

Does anyone know something about "Lord's Cricket Ground," or have you been there?

  1. Hi Dixie and Alistair,
Saw a little of the archery. And your article is right on target.
Considering that guy's vision impairment, that's very inspirational.
Never been to "Lord's Cricket Ground". It is where a number of international cricket games are played. The ground, of course, is being used for archery during the Olympics and is fairly near Regent's Park which is the home of the London Zoo.
Take care, the both of you! :)

  2. Dear Dixie,
This is an amazing story. And inspirational, too.
And, all I know about Lord's Cricket Ground is that it's where they play, erm, cricket!
Very Best Wishes, your way, Dixie,
    David.

  3. Truly an amazing person; his feat seems unbelievable!
Lords Cricket Ground is in fashionable (and very expensive) St Johns Wood in north-west London. Paul McCartney used to live there. I have been to quite a few cricket matches at Lords and it is a lovely sports venue which is regarded as the spiritual home of world cricket.
When an international match ('Test' match) is being played against Australia there, God's in his heaven and all is well with the world. It has been on this site since 1814.

  4. Sir klahanie!

We're most grateful you could visit us. Yes, he inspired us too.

I rather like crickets; once had some chocolate covered ants. I wonder if crickets are similar?

I 'd love to see the London zoo; isn't that next to parlament??

    Keep pointing up!

  5. Dear David,

I suppose Alistair and I could have Googled the place, but there's so many events to watch; we're running our little tails off to get tales for our readers.

    Hahaha. "Erm, cricket!" Indeed.

  6. Oh Bazza!
We are most pleased with your information. Of course you probably have gleaned a bit from the London Monopoly. Love that game.

How thrilling that you've been there too. Yes, and my "Aussie" friends are a load of laughs. I grab the chance to see a match there.

Thank you for all this lovely information. Maybe we can even get a photo!

    Ta-ta for now,
    Dixie & Alistair
