Pumpkin spice

Traveling vines across the grounds
Waiting for the sun above
Springing forth without a sound
Pumpkin spice is what I love

And so I wait until they're grown
Golden orbs look mighty fine
I pluck them off to take the home
That pumpkin spice will soon be mine

The house is filled with awesome smell
That lasts for days and feels so nice
Of all the memories I know so well
There's nothing like the pumpkin spice

  5. Hey Dixie,
What a 'scentsible' poem and the scent of pumpkin spice is wafting up my nose :)

  6. I never heard of pumpkin spice. I don't think we have it in the UK. I have had pumpkin pie though and that's delicious. Any chance of a recipe?

  7. Dear Dixie,
    Another lovely poem from you.
I suppose the pumpkin is always connected in most of our minds with halloween, so I hope you had a very happy one!
    With Very Best Wishes,
    David.

  9. Bazza,
Pumpkin spice contains no pumpkin; here you go:

    19.71 ml cinnamon
    9.85 ml ginger
    4.92 ml allspice
    4.92 ml nutmeg

Mix ingredients and place in airtight container. Taste it to see if you'd like more or less of any spice. You can eliminate sugar; the spices add sweetness to any recipe, including sweet potatoes!

  10. Dear David,
I seemed to have skipped over your comment; forgive my mistake, please.
So glad you liked this little poem. I guess I'm an exception, but always liked pumpkin for Thanksgiving time. Never could carve one to make a grusome face, ooooh.
No children showed up to trick or treat. That left me and a couple of neighbors with lots of chocolate to divide... mmmm!
Anyway, if you celebrated Halloween, I hope you had fun! Thank you, David.
    Dixie :)
