Favorite time of year ~

The air is slowly changing
There's a sweater on the chair ~
Long walks are very pleasing
As I breathe the morning air ~

The squirrels will soon be gathered
In nests, high in the trees ~
On the ground, eventually slathered
Will be autumn's colored leaves ~

What is your favorite time of year?

  1. Yes, we can actually go for a walk now without breaking into a humidity and heat induced sweat!
Autumn is my favorite. Cooler weather and football.

    1. Alex, you just reminded me of the little 'peewee' teams that will start playing soon, at the big park. They are rough and ready football "all the way" small peeps. Better get the popcorn ordered.

  2. It sure is not the way
As we're stuck here with heat
    I'd take a fall day
    But instead sweat I greet

    My favorite time of year,
    Is any with no snow.
Of the cold I have no fear,
Now can you make this humidity go?

    1. So Pat, maybe you're seasons are offset from what mine are? We're leaving 94 degrees into the 74 range. It's nice day outside. Great rain overnight, cooled it down even more (smile).

  3. Hi human, Dixie,

Aha, I note my comment follows after Alex, or maybe one of his clones. Followed by Pat in the Hatt, how about that!

Nice pawetry, human Dixie, pawetry I could um, fall for. Arf!

My "favourite", season is any season.

    Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses,

    Penny xx

    1. Alex's clones? There's a possibility that Pat has clones too. I don't how they manage to get around so quickly?! Glad you enjoyed the poem, Penny.

  6. I love this time of the year in South Africa because it's Spring and it's absolutely lovely because the air is cool but the sun is hot and everything is just brighter and lovelier.

But in Saudi Arabia, this time of year is terrible because it's boiling hot and usually the beginning of a new academic year i.e. utter chaos! ;)

    1. Azra - your blog fascinates me! I always learn new stuff. I would love to visit South Africa in the spring. Saudi Arabia - I don't think I could handle the heat!

  7. I kind of like all seasons, now that I live where it doesn't snow, at least seldom. I can get out my jeans and cowgirl boots and dance in late fall and winter. Spring brings all the incredible wild flowers in Texas. Now the heat is a bit much, but we usually escape at least for a while to cooler climate. So summer is vacation time!

  8. Beautiful poem.

My favorite is summer. But I do love sweaters over bathing suits.

    1. Thanks, Liz! I loved reading about the "Nazi Grammar."

Sweaters over bathing suits? Me too, as long as they're not the scratchy kind.

  10. I really enjoy the changing of the seasons. You can't beat a sunny Winter's day when it feels good to be alive but overall I like Autumn and Spring the best!
I also enjoy long walks; I did six miles today but it was very hot in London.

    1. Bazza, how interesting. I have another friend who loves the changing of the seasons too. I agree about the sunny Winter day! My studio faces the East or direction of sunrise.

Six miles? What a champ! Did you take the Grandchildren?

    2. The grandchildren?! The twins might have come along but little miss Lois would rather get in a car :-)

  13. Bravo! Makes me want to feel a little bit of that, whilst I'm looking Spring in the eyes. Seasons. Seasons. Hard to say, the colder ones, the moody ones, that's all I will venture.
