A wish

It's a town most anywhere,
where the snow has fallen deep,
and the people never sleep.

It's a town that has no name,
where people watch the stars a-glow,
that shed their light upon the snow.

It's a town not far away,
where people celebrate and cheer,
the love that's true and clear.

  1. I used this song in my Battle of the Bands for December 1. Enya handily beat The Civil Wars. Maybe I should've used this version instead.... very nice!!!!

    1. I forgot to say that the violin reminds me of beautiful Middle Child, who plays like the angel she is.

    2. I watched the video three times. I felt as if I'd had a visit from Middle Child, who moves so much like that violinist. She plays the piano, too. I'm trying not to cry.

    3. This gives me joy - that it gave you joy! Wow!
I think I played Lindsey's Carol of the Bells video 20 plus times - this one almost.
      Oh no - I might cry myself!(smile)

    2. Penny has told me she's glad you are getting real "pupular" on your site. "Barking Day Eve and of course, Barking Day Eve, Eve aka December 24! Arf!

    3. "Pupular"? Leave it you and Penny to create more new words than Oxford! Tell her, she's very kind and I can't wait to read about her holidays!
      Bow-wow.

  6. I recently discovered Lindsay Stirling through BotB, and just love her. She rivals David Garrett for my affections. And Kuha is awesome on that piano. Amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. Lessons learned; self taught. Just beautiful.

And that poem was beautiful also.

Very nice to meet you Dixie. Have a wonderful christmas :)

Glad you liked the poem. I hope to crank up an old blog for BOTB come January. Need some questions answered first, though.
My pleasure meeting you, Dolorah! Thank you for visiting!! Merry Christmas!

    1. Happy holidays to you, Azra! I have a hard time thinking of Christmas in climates above 50 degrees! Hope things there are well, and the 'construction' is satisfying! Missing your keys tapping out!

  8. Hi, Dixie! Janie Junebug sent me over and I'm thankful that I did not miss this inspiring video. When it feels so good to love, validate and encourage others, it remains a mystery why so many people choose to spread the poison of hate. Thank you for sharing this special gift with us and Merry Christmas to you!

    1. How very nice of you! I love the interactions between you and our Miss JJ. (shh - don't let her know I read all of the comments!) I completely agree, Mr. Knight. Too bad that for some, LOVE is a four letter word. I'll keep hoping for them. Merry Christmas, and thank you for visiting me! :))

  9. I'm here thanks to JJ. I'm not sure I'd discovered this blog of yours too. You're a multi-talented woman, DC.

So few words in that poem -- so much depth and warmth.

    1. Hi Robin! I thought about you today when I went for refills on Hershey's Chocolate-peppermint kisses... ha ha.(Ad advertisement? Sure thing, if it gets me free ones!)
Well, thank you for that sweet compliment. I really just wanted to have a separate place for my raunchyjokes! With Fibromyalgia, I'm liable to wake up every few hours and post another joke. Whereas this blog is for my sensitive side. (interview over - I need a kiss - from Hershey's, darling!)
I'm glad you liked the poem. Thank you for visiting me!!

    1. Hi Sherry! You know, I didn't know it either. I happened across this one while looking her version of "Carol of the Bells". It's posted on here too; Melanie Thornton's "Wonderful Dream" is on this same week - you've got to hear that if you haven't before. It's so sweet,
I love your blog and as soon as I figure out to follow... Such funny stuff.
      Thank you for visiting me!!

  11. Merry Christmas dear friend!

Sometimes, I feel like a stranger in my own life but checking in now and then with those who have inspired me helps make sense of a crazy world. I'm happy that your inspiration continues.

  12. Hi Ruma! Thank for your such a kind comment. The poem is in a language I don't know or recognize. I'll try again later.
I had a look at your web site and don't think I'll need email services, as you provide, now or in the future. (smile)
Thank you so mush for visiting me!
