Interacting

I never know when someone’s mood will affect me. In the blink of an eye I can join their… sorrow, their pain, their madness, their anger… to my own day. Not only can I join it, but seem to gladly promote it. Then I realize that the person doesn’t need me to be in the same mood. I need to be supportive, encouraging another, to a better moment.

Today I was just a “joiner”. I could not let my own feelings get out of the way! Being human doesn’t always make me smile…and I sure can make mistakes.

I’m blogging what ails me and moving on. It’s called interacting. Woo-hoo.

  4. Thanks Gary; I hope to get better at reversing my reactions, and interactions. Sometimes my 'stop button' seems to be stuck! :]

  5. Hi Desperado. I truly understand... and it seems 'safer', at least for the other party concerned. =]

  6. Dear Dave,
    If I only had a damn to control my river that flows and flows; too much at times. So I blog it, since I cannot clog it! Thank you. :}

  7. Hi Dixie,

Few have the ability to avoid getting caught up in the emotions of others all the time. It is what makes us human. I certainly do my share!

Sigh and move on is the best way. The second after it happens, it is in the past and there is nothing we need to give the event after that.

Thank you for the kind words and as always for your heartfelt sharing and inspiration. I need all I can get right now.

    Namaste'

  8. The difference between empathy and sympathy is difficult, but I try to let others' positivity rub off on me, whilst trying to quarantee any negativity I or they sometimes generate. Thank you for your kindness, shining through the darkness. Be gentle on yourself. You deserve goodness, best wishes, Julie xx

  9. Hi Roger,

Good to hear from you; I'm most grateful for your comments.

I'm placing a new post just for you, called, "Real or Imagined". It's one of those sites that deals with the onslaught of "busy minds doing busy things," and how the busy-ness takes away much of our enjoyable living. You'll see that 'some' seems contrived.

It's a long read and I apologize for this, but I felt the entire article deserved a look.

    Wishing you well, Dixie

  10. Dear "A jewel shining through":

How often it is, that you nail exactly 'where' I'm at, though I feel lost in the shuffle. (Too many cards in my deck!) "Empathy versus sympathy", indeed; you've given me a solution(wink).

I am blessed with the sharing of your intuitive nature. (My next post deals with that; something new for me.)
Take good care my friend. xxx

  11. We are all humans with different emotions - joy, sadness, pain, anger, etc. They come and go and life has to move on. The word should be e-motions to emphasize the word motion which implies constant movement. For me, I accept my emotions and I give allowance to the emotions of other people. We all make mistakes. That puts all of us on the same footing.

  12. Jun Bullan,
    I totally agree.
Making the same mistake over and over, expecting different results, is insanity. I no longer wish to practice insanity. I view self respect and respect for others as priority one.
Thank you for such a wise and personable comment.
    In peace, Dixie

  14. Hi LR,
As I reread over all of the comments,to get to your's, I realised the interacting played out here.

It takes certain individuals to leave a comment. Some put away shyness to say what they feel. Some share the experience they would have you know about, having lived it themselves.

Then yes, there are times I feel the presence of those who cannot be here physically, or they choose not to leave a comment. My thought that they're with me is comforting.

    Thank you!xx
