Vacation Scams

Summer is close by and the vacation ads are swarming like bees. Be sure and do your research on that supposed, lovely, 'two for one' cruise.

Speaking of cruise, I'm off to the backyard where more mulch has arrived. Looks like my summer vacation destination remains at home. Oh well, we all know, there's no place like... a free mulch pile. Right?

  3. Always a good idea.

But if I'm going to travel this summer, it's more likely to be visiting relatives or driving somewhere.

    1. I went to the park but it seems they closed it due to some people trashing it. No overnight camping any more. Sad.

I do hope you'll have a safe and fun time!

  4. Good warning about scams :) This is the first year in about 4 years that we can afford to take a vacation, but will take it in October :)

    1. Betty, I love going to the beach in October. A couple of times I even went deepsea fishing. It's great. I sit on the sand and draw a lot too. Things I can paint later.

I hope you'll have a good time wherever you go!!

  5. Book a vacation one's self and ignore the scams, best way to be. Home works though

    1. Oh Jono! Snow flurries? It was 85 degrees here a couple of days ago. We're on and off with cooler weather - but most typical of this part of the country.

I hoe you find a warm spot. Good to see you're back!! (smile).

  7. Scams abound.

As does mulch. I have about ten bags screaming my name.

  10. Our vacations usually have a friend or family oriented slant, so we haven't tried any of those "two for ones". But your warning is a good one.

    1. Elizabeth, this happened to a friend of mine. They've been planning this vacation for eight months, only to discover it was a scam.

Wherever you go this year, post about it. I love to see people's choices of places to relax. (smile).

  12. I've never been on a cruise. It sounds like it would be fun, but of course I'd do a lot of research first.

Can I have some of that mulch? ;)

  13. Oh Summer, how I miss thee. Shivering here in a jacket and waiting for the warmth to return. Until then, goodnight.

  15. I've never been on a cruise and it doesn't really appeal to me. So I think I'll stay home too. Although escaping the winter to some warmer place does sound appealing….

    1. Kate, I'm thinking this winter to sit by my fireplace. As for summer - AC and a window view will be okay with me, (smile).
