Late night tune - get your earplugs!

It's warmer than last night, but not by much. Yes, I'm whining! I want to kick back and daydream of a tropical isle, but Bruce Springsteen keeps getting in my way. Do you ever get a song stuck in your head, and it goes round and round? Tonight I have that problem. Since I can't get to sleep.... I decided to post it on here. Maybe I'll play it over and over, and overdose on Bruce.

Teddy doesn't care. He's copacetic staring at the fire. Do you think Teddy is real? Oh never mind - another story - another time. Back to Bruce. Now, he's real. I even thought I'd find a song about cold weather, and it might shut Bruce up... in my head. No.

I think what got me thinking about this song, was a comment from my friend, Dezmond. We were talking about radiator heaters. I recalled living in an apartment building which had them, which reminded me of living on the top floor, which reminded me of the many times I would play Bruce Springsteen... whew! Okay, that sounds a bit insane...

Let's just hope I get sleepy soon. You don't want to know my second choice. Not tonight! Maybe I'll run up and down the basement steps a few times. After all, I was, Born to Run!

  1. my fave song of Bruce's is RADIO NOWHERE :) But I'm a bit young to have remembered most of his other stuff.

    1. My older brother introduced to so much music, including Bruce. I'm sure I know, "Radio Nowhere," but I'm lousy with titles... hum a line or too and I'll sing along with ya'.

Teddy is the "one" stuffed bear I kept when I gave the rest away. You would not have believed how many bears I had accumulated. Everyone always gave me bears. I became the "Teddy Bear Queen" ha-ha-ha.

I came in from college and my Dad asked me to consider donating my collection. It was Christmas time and I was on break. My goodness, the attic was full of boxes of them. Some I didn't even remember getting. So I made a decision to keep one large bear and a small box of little bitty bears. Most were no bigger then 4 inches.

Later, moved out on my own. I used them on a Christmas tree one year, and a neighbor child wanted the tree, so I gave it to her. So I put a bow on Teddy! and the gifts around HIM.

Here's the good part, Dezz... Teddy has a hidden pocket. I can take him anywhere, maybe put a small protection device inside and go off to the airport overlook. We likes being safe.(smile)

    2. Such delight. I had bears as a lil' kid too, since I mostly played with animal toys and not with weapons or soldiers. I think that my mother threw most of my teddies when we were moving, but I do have two saved ones somewhere in the basement. One is from brown ply and the other one probably has antique value since it is probably two or three times older than me.

    3. No soldiers or weapon toys! Though I have a baseball bat. It's still with me, standing in the corner of my studio. Teddy has one of those little pepper spray canisters!

You two bears sound like real treasures. You know people actually dress them up now days. Good money for little outfits. I used to make the long eared bunnies, and give them as gifts to the nieces. I have eight nieces. The ones in Pennsylvania have multiple outfits for their rabbits. I used soft polished cotton for the bodies and ears.

Over here they sell for $75-100 a rabbit but I didn't know that, until after I stopped making them. The smallest ones costs more because they're completely hand sewn. Crazy huh?

    1. I read that!!! So maybe I should made this a "Happy Birthday, Bruce' post?

I do know that Beatle, George Harrison would be 80 on January 22nd!! My older brother was a Beatle fanatic! I watched an old interview with Harrison last night... talking about how people were just too busy to enjoy living. the interview was 1997...imagine what he'd think now?

I agree, Debra... I'm taking it moment by moment, cause as Steven Tyler sings, "I don't wanna me a thinggg." (smile)

  3. I had to look up the word 'copacetic' - so, thanks a new word I can slip into - well I'm not sure where.

By the way, George Harrison wouldn't have been 80, he was born in 1943. But time does fly past.

    1. Hi Mike. Cool on the word... not so cool on the age.

I read the title of an article, which stated 'Harrison would have been 80,' but I didn't read the article, and instead clicked on the 1997 interview link. (That'll teach me.) Sorry about that!

    1. I only like the one album, pictured above in the video. It had a certain flow from one song 'into' the next.

I've got to come see how you ended your story (smile).

  5. I lived in several apt buildings in NY that had radiator heat. It always worked well and I was usually warm. Better than when I grew up in IN and Mom always kept the furnace at 65. Brrrrrr. I hope you get rid of your ear-worm and get to sleep. :)

    1. I slept a little while. Not to complain, but Fibromyalgia wrecks havoc sometimes. My sleep pattern suffers... so I go listen to music.

Indiana at 65 - that is brrrrr! I'm at 60-61, but I also have the fireplace. In fact it might be lower than that. The house holds heat pretty well.

Congratulations on the blog hop hosting. I'll come over and link in before I forget!! Have a great weekend, Lexa, and thanks for visiting me.
