Helping friends to help friends to help...

The Beatles said it best:

"Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends
With a little help from my friends...."

  1. Hello friend,
Nice song choice by the Beatles.
And in the spirit of it all, here's some lyrics from "Come Together."

"Here come old flattop, he come grooving up slowly
He got joo-joo eyeball, he one holy roller
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker he just do what he please
He wear no shoeshine, he got toe-jam football
He got monkey finger, he shoot coca-cola
He say "I know you, you know me"
One thing I can tell you is you got to be free
Come together right now over me.."

Sorry Dixie, I have no idea what I'm doing :)

  2. Is that a genuine photo? - it's sensational!
You chose the most fitting Beatles lyric but my input would be "You Really Got A Hold On Me"

  3. Dear Dixie,
I may be mistaken, but I remember being told once that the "friends" lyric in the Beatles song was actually a veiled reference to drugs.
That aside, we all do "need a little help" from our friends occasionally, and I hope I remain one of yours (in a blogging sense, that is!)
    Very Best Wishes,
    David.

  4. Hi Dixie! Oh that's just an adorable picture!
Love how you put it all together with the song!
I am also smiling over Gary's verse!
It's funny to see the lyrics to that song actually written down...
    joo-joo eyeball ~ OK :o)

This was a fun post, your words and the other comments! Thanks for the night-time smiles, Dixie!
    Happy January!

  5. Gary,
No problems. We each have our own 'gerbalistic' writing style. I'll refrain from analyzing yours!
    Thanks for hanging in,
    Dixie

  6. Bazza, yes it's one of cousin Kathy's from some time back. She's extremely talented and travels the world. I like painting from her photos!
I did consider "Michelle". Really, close your eyes and imagine the "Chipmunks" singing it; gerbalicious! But how long can one hang onto that limb???
Liked your choice! Thanks for hanging,
    Dixie

  7. David...NO! Don't tell me; it's probably a dusted daisy! I did note the way the 'female' gerbal cautiously sniffs at it.
Gives new thought to "Lucy in the sky with daisies"...
Thanks, I have a new perspective. Your blogging(only, smile) pal,
    Dixie

  8. Maria,
Smiles are a wonderful thing! I'm glad you enjoyed this. I often get tickled myself.
I have the best blogging pals. You and everyone keep me smiling. I never know what comments will be left, but I probably need them!!!
    Happy January!

  9. Great song and lyrics by The Beatles. I appreciate them more the older I get. If a man or woman has at least one good friend they can count on, they should consider themselves lucky. I consider most bloggers truly blessed because we can usually say we have a lot of great supportive friends. The blogging community, I've found, is like a very tightly knit therapy group. You type away about your troubles, triumphs, worries, crazy moments and happy moments and, quite often, sometimes more so than your reality based family and friends, they will actually give you feedback and support.

  10. Hi Kelly,
I certainly agree with all you've said. "Norwegian Wood, "While my guitar slowly weeps," and other tunes even more profound, become insights for discovery.
Yes, and the raw nerve, we slap on the screen, cries for recognition; emptying the thoughts that need to be free.
    Great comment!
