forgiveness

Lewis B. Smedes

“None of us wants to admit that we hate someone... when we deny our hate we detour around the crisis of forgiveness.

We suppress our spite, make adjustments, and make believe we are too good to be hateful.

But the truth is that we do not dare to risk admitting the hate we feel, because we do not dare to risk forgiving the person we hate."

  2. I'm still working with 'The Plan,' removing behaviors and attitudes that hinder me from reaching my dreams and goals.
You know me... and my insane willingness to share the bells that ring in my head.
Thank YOU for sharing with me.

  4. Wishing you clarity and peace. I heard a great definition of forgiveness - "giving up the hope that the past will be different". I myself am still working on that, learning to drop the "but", but you and me are getting there, see how far our steps have taken us. I share my bells too, so no need to explain for me :) Sending you love during your time away, best wishes xx

  6. Dear Jun Bullan,
That's very kind of you to say; thanks for visiting me.
Just for me... I think we all are part of a light that embraces and share all good things.
It is growth when, what we bring, gets shared in return, elevating our understanding of others.
Thanks for your own uplifting blogs!

  7. A jewel shining through~
Giving up hope concerning the past? Yes, I am feeling in more control of what needs to be 'past'.
By staying in the moment, my thoughts of the past dissolve. Thoughts of the future cannot enter unless I allow them passage.
This behavior gives me great clarity and peace.
I've always liked your bells! xx

    Dear Gary,
My plans are moving along in spite of the recent physical setbacks. (Nothing I wish to elaborate on, or complain about.)
I do thank you for your positive interaction of empathy, your shared hopes, and warm thoughts.
    :) x
