The Graveled Path

I came in spring to look around
The birds were making lovely sound
Summer bade me linger
By autumn’s end I hit the ground

The graveled path in all light gray
Provided sight to see a way
Without much light
I chose to play

The wind would sweep and off I’d go
While people bundled up for snow
As time was going fast
And never more to know

A child stooped down to have a look
Then placed me in a memory book
I’m very old and yet
Glad to be the one she took.
