He did interest stories on the athletes, while McKay was head anchor.
Ironically Costas is now the (NBC) head... Mary Carillo was the interest stories' person. I thought they were dynamite in action; great stuff! I hope they both continue.
Well, Gary, if Vancouver is a village, then McKay is a village idiot(oops). Can I be sued for that?
Congratulations to you and your countrymen! A fine hockey game indeed.
Kindness to you,
DixieDixie@dcreliefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11558671709412200904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8169296047258820802.post-32917219811507460762010-02-28T18:45:38.141-05:002010-02-28T18:45:38.141-05:00Hi Dixie,
You look so sweet in the picture:-)
I th...Hi Dixie,
You look so sweet in the picture:-)
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your 'commentary' and reflections of Olympic sporting names.
I sort of recall 'Bob Costas'. Did a bit of research and found out that he was influenced by 'Jim McKay', a well-known ABC sports commentator. Jim McKay is not exactly popular in Vancouver when he commentated on a soccer game there. He referred to the city of Vancouver as a 'village'.
Anyway, the hockey game is over and my neighbours must have wondered why I was screaming so loud:-)
Over to you after the following commercial break....
Kind wishes, Gary xklahaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08613505424843475639noreply@blogger.com
