Ready

I watched the rain fall from the sky
A million drops to make a puddle.
The birds don't sing and they don't fly,
But sit on limbs bunched in a huddle.

The clouds are soft and disappearing.
Is that golden light a ray of sun?
Could it be the storm is clearing?
Are the rain clouds on the run?

I cross my heart and fingers too,
And hope that sunshine fills the earth.
I long to see a sky of blue
display the joy of rainbow's birth.

The New Door

Often I read about the lives of others with a couragious journey. I glean what I can from what they've gone through. It adds strength, understanding, and helps me combat my own fear. Until I find myself standing in front of the new door. I've learned to take in a long breath, let it out slowly as I turn the door knob, and then step through.
